Heat Wave
It.has.been.cold.here!!
I know. Not as cold as you people North. All I can say is
1. I feel for you.
2. I'd have to move if I live where you are.
These record temps across the country have taken a lot of people by surprise! Us, for sure. We don't own clothes for this weather! Seriously! There was ice on our windshields yesterday morning when Bryan left for work! OK. I'm done. You won't hear me say any more about me freezing here, because there are millions of people freezing. Thankfully, we are blessed with heat. And a fireplace for the 28° we are expecting on Saturday night. BRRRR!!!!
Well, we enjoyed a heat-wave today. The temp reading in my car was 55° so we headed to the park!
We met some awesome people! All homeschoolers. A couple of us have mutual friends. The kids just clicked! And so did we mommies. (and MawMaws. Mom was with us, as was another grandmother from Rhode Island).
All of the boys ran around playing *war* with Nerf guns. Nicholas gave me the play-by-play on the way home of him being assassinated. ha!
On our way home, we made a pit stop at the animal shelter. In our cleaning-out frenzy, we had gathered a number of towels that we wanted to donate for the animals.
(sigh) This was probably one of the worst things we could have done. [not really] The kids just get so attached to these animals. Remember how we obtained Oreo?? They still *help* our neighbor with cats she fosters. They even recognized a few of the cats today from her house.
Oreo had a twin there too...
This is Susie. She is 12yo and a big-time lap cat. Nicholas wanted to bring her home so badly! He even made a chart when we got home trying to convince us of the similarities between Oreo and Susie. :(
Meet Chance. He's 8wks old. Don't be surprised if I post soon of a new addition to our family. He melted my heart.
[I swear I'm gonna be the-little-old-lady-who-lived-in-a-shoe. With cats, instead of kids!) ha!

I have the same problem. I would volunteer at the Humane Society and bring them donations more often if I didn't want to bring everyone home with me! I know it's my issue and I need to get over it, but I'm really having a hard time with it.
Just came across your blog and wanted to say that I love your homeschool link section!
